What it is
Drive a real gas-powered car along a winding miniature motorway, past Honda robot cameos and Matterhorn views. It is the only Tomorrowland attraction still running from opening day in 1955, and many kids' first time behind the wheel. 32 inches to drive with a companion at least 54 inches tall, 54 inches to drive solo. Under California rules the ride must convert to electric or close by Feb 1, 2027, so expect a closure in early 2027.
How to do it right
- Guests 32 inches and up can drive if accompanied by someone 54 inches or taller; each car seats 2 adults or 3 children
- On Multi Pass and worth using here; loading is slow and the queue is mostly unshaded
- The cars ride a center guide rail, so even wild steering stays on course
- Must convert to electric or close by Feb 1, 2027. Expect a closure early in 2027, so ride the gas version this year if it matters to you
Best time to ride
- Morning
- With Lightning Lane Multi Pass, the slow load makes standby drag
Photo spots
- Kid behind the wheel mid-course
- Retro Autopia marquee
Accessibility
- You need to transfer from a wheelchair or ECV to the ride vehicle
