What it is

The original 1967 version and still the best, a roughly 15-minute boat voyage past the Blue Bayou restaurant, down two small drops, and into a pirate raid on a Caribbean port. Several minutes longer than the Florida version, with scenes that exist only here.

How to do it right

  • No Lightning Lane, but the queue moves fast thanks to high-capacity boats, and posted waits often overstate the real wait
  • The Disneyland version is longer than Florida's, opening in a moonlit bayou and featuring two drops (Florida has one)
  • Floating past diners at the Blue Bayou is the iconic opening, book a meal there to live the other side of it
  • Ride during Fantasmic! or the fireworks for the shortest waits of the night
  • The two drops are small but real, hold loose items
