What it is

Step into the premiere of the cartoon short "Perfect Picnic" at the El CapiTOON Theater, then hitch a ride on Engineer Goofy's train as it goes off the rails into a trackless romp through ever-changing cartoon scenes. Opened at Disneyland in January 2023.

How to do it right

  • Toontown attractions can close early on fireworks nights (they pause during the show), so check the app hours before saving it for last
  • A great Multi Pass pick for families since there's no height requirement and everyone can ride
  • The lobby's "Mickey Through the Ears" exhibit of movie props and memorabilia is worth a slow walk
  • Trackless vehicles split up, so ride twice for different scene perspectives

Best time to ride

  • Rope drop
  • With Lightning Lane Multi Pass
  • Last hour

Photo spots

  • El CapiTOON Theater marquee
  • Toontown streetscape outside the theater

Accessibility

  • You need to transfer from a wheelchair or ECV to the ride vehicle
  • Assistive listening available
  • Handheld captioning available
