Disney World Holidays 2026

The holidays are my favorite time at Disney World, and also one of the busiest. The official holiday season runs November 13, 2026 to January 6, 2027, but some things start earlier. Here are the dates, prices, and planning tips as of October 2026.

Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party

Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party is the separately ticketed evening event at Magic Kingdom. For 2026 there are 25 party nights, November 8 to December 22. Tickets run $189 to $229 for adults (kids 3 to 9 are $10 less), and several dates are already sold out, so don't wait.

The party runs 7 PM to midnight, and your ticket lets you into Magic Kingdom starting at 4 PM. It includes Mickey's Once Upon a Christmastime Parade, a holiday fireworks show, a castle stage show, holiday character meets (some only appear at the party), and free cookies and hot cocoa at treat locations around the park.

Planning note: on party nights, regular guests are out of Magic Kingdom by the evening, and the regular Happily Ever After fireworks and Disney Starlight parade don't run. On non-party nights in November and December, Happily Ever After is at 8:00 PM.

Disney Jollywood Nights

Disney Jollywood Nights is the holiday evening event at Hollywood Studios: 15 nights from November 7, 2026 to January 5, 2027, with tickets from $169 to $199. It has holiday shows and themed food and drinks, with more of a grown-up feel than the Magic Kingdom party.

Epcot Festival of the Holidays

EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays runs November 27 to December 30, 2026, and it's included with EPCOT admission. Holiday kitchens around World Showcase sell seasonal dishes and drinks (paid, like Food & Wine booths), and storytellers in the pavilions share holiday traditions from their countries.

Candlelight Processional

The Candlelight Processional also runs November 27 to December 30 at the America Gardens Theatre. A celebrity narrator tells the Christmas story with a full choir and orchestra. Shows are at 4:45, 6:30, and 8:00 PM. Standby seating is included with admission, but lines get long. Candlelight dining packages, which include a meal and reserved seating, open for booking October 14, so set a reminder.

What Else Is New for 2026

• Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets runs a holiday overlay from November 4 to January 6.
• Alien Swirling Saucers: Lilypad's Jams adds a holiday playlist starting November 4.
• Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind plays holiday songs starting November 25.
• Santa's Holiday Grove is new at Animal Kingdom this season.

Resort Decorations

Resort hopping is free and a great holiday activity. The Grand Floridian's life-size gingerbread house in the lobby is the classic stop, and most resort lobbies get big trees and decorations. Decorations generally go up in early November and stay through the start of January.

Crowds and Hours

The week of Thanksgiving and December 20 through New Year's are the busiest weeks of the year. Early to mid-December (outside party nights at Magic Kingdom) is my sweet spot: everything is decorated and crowds are more manageable.

Lightning Lane Multi Pass (about $15 to $45 per person per day, higher on peak days) is worth it during the holidays. Disney hotel guests can book 7 days before check-in for the whole stay; everyone else books 3 days out, at 7 AM Eastern. Disney hotel guests also get Early Theme Park Entry, 30 minutes early every day.

Weather

Florida in December is usually mild: daytime highs in the 70s and nights that can drop into the 50s. Pack layers and a light jacket for the parties and fireworks.

More About the Party

The party has its own versions of the big shows. The parade is Mickey's Once Upon a Christmastime Parade, complete with Santa Claus and the Marching Band of Toy Soldiers, and it usually runs twice a night. The fireworks are Minnie's Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks, a different show from Happily Ever After. The parade times change a bit by date, so check the party guide map or the app on your night.

My party-night game plan for clients: get there at 4 PM when party guests can enter, ride a few big rides before the day guests leave, eat an early dinner, then spend the party hours on parade, fireworks, and the party-only character meets. Treats are spread around the park, so grab cookies as you go instead of waiting in one long line.

Jingle Cruise

The Jungle Cruise usually turns into the Jingle Cruise for the holidays, with festive decorations and holiday jokes from the skippers. It's included with regular Magic Kingdom admission, so you don't need a party ticket to ride it.

Disney Springs Christmas Tree Stroll

The Christmas Tree Stroll at Disney Springs runs November 13, 2026 to January 6, 2027. Trees themed to Disney, Pixar, and Star Wars stories are spread around the shopping district. It's free, parking at Disney Springs is free, and it's a great low-key evening on a non-park day.

Epcot Hours During the Festival

One change for 2026: EPCOT is scheduled to close earlier during the Festival of the Holidays, around 9:00 PM, with Luminous The Symphony of Us starting around 9:15 PM. That means the 8:00 PM Candlelight Processional runs right up to closing time. Plan your EPCOT dinner and festival grazing for the afternoon and early evening.

A Sample 5-day Holiday Trip

Day 1: Arrive, check in, and do the Disney Springs Christmas Tree Stroll in the evening.

Day 2: Magic Kingdom on a party night. Get there by 4 PM with your party ticket.

Day 3: EPCOT for the Festival of the Holidays and the Candlelight Processional (a dining package if you can get one).

Day 4: Hollywood Studios during the day. If you're adults, consider Jollywood Nights that evening.

Day 5: Animal Kingdom in the morning for Santa's Holiday Grove, then resort hopping to see the Grand Floridian gingerbread house and the lobby trees.

What to Pack for the Holidays

• Layers: a T-shirt for the afternoon and a sweatshirt or light jacket for the night
• Long pants for party nights, when it can get chilly by the late parade
• A festive shirt or ears for photos
• A portable charger, since you'll take more photos than you think
• Comfortable shoes, because holiday crowds mean more walking around people
