Disney World Extended Evening Hours 2026: How Deluxe Resort Guests Ride More With Fewer People

Deluxe and DVC resort guests get up to two extra hours in one theme park after it closes to everyone else. Here's who qualifies, how the schedule works, and whether it's actually worth staying up for.

Every Disney World Deluxe resort guest gets a perk that a lot of people staying at those hotels never actually use: extra time inside one theme park after it closes to everyone else. Extended Evening Hours runs on select nights, adds roughly two hours to a single park's day, and gets you noticeably shorter lines on some of the biggest rides at Disney World, provided you know which resort tier qualifies and which park has it during your trip. Disney has confirmed Extended Evening Hours (and Early Theme Park Entry for all Disney resort guests) continue through 2027. Last updated October 2026.

Who actually gets this perk

Extended Evening Hours is a deluxe-tier benefit, not a resort-wide one. You qualify if you're staying at a Disney Deluxe Resort (Grand Floridian, Polynesian Village, Contemporary, Wilderness Lodge, Animal Kingdom Lodge, Beach Club, Yacht Club, BoardWalk Inn) or a Disney Deluxe Villa resort under the DVC umbrella (Bay Lake Tower, Copper Creek, Boulder Ridge, Riviera, Old Key West, Saratoga Springs, Animal Kingdom Villas, Beach Club Villas, BoardWalk Villas). Swan, Dolphin, Swan Reserve, and Shades of Green also get it, even though none of those are Disney-owned. Value and Moderate resort guests don't get it, regardless of ticket type. That's the split that trips people up every trip-planning season: Port Orleans, Caribbean Beach, Coronado Springs, Pop Century, and the other Value and Moderate resorts are left out. (They do still get Early Theme Park Entry, 30 minutes early at every park, every day.)

How the schedule actually works

This isn't a nightly perk, and it isn't tied to one park all year. Disney rotates which park hosts it, and the rotation shifted several times in 2026 as park hours and seasonal events changed. Usually it is one park on a given night, adding about two hours after the posted close, on a weekly pattern that changes with the season.

Check the schedule for your dates

Disney posts Extended Evening Hours on the Park Hours calendar in the My Disney Experience app and on disneyworld.com, usually a few weeks to a couple of months ahead. During the holiday season, Magic Kingdom party nights (Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party runs November 8 to December 22) and other events affect which parks get the extra hours, so check the calendar for your specific dates before you plan a night around it.

What's actually open during the extra hours

Not everything. Disney runs a trimmed lineup during the extended window, usually the headliners plus a handful of supporting rides rather than a full-park experience. At Hollywood Studios that's typically meant Rise of the Resistance, Slinky Dog Dash, and Tower of Terror. At Magic Kingdom it's meant Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Tron Lightcycle Run, and Space Mountain. At EPCOT it's Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, Test Track, and Frozen Ever After. A limited set of quick-service and merchandise locations stay open too, but a lot of shops and table-service restaurants go dark right at the regular closing time. Disney's own guest services page notes the attraction lineup is subject to change night to night, so don't build a whole evening around one specific ride with no backup plan.

Is it worth staying up for

If you're already booked at a qualifying resort, yes, almost every time. The crowd that shows up for Extended Evening Hours is a fraction of daytime volume, and a ride that runs 60 to 75 minutes at 2 p.m. can run 10 to 15 minutes at 10:30 p.m. It's about as close as Disney World gets to a private-feeling park without paying hard-ticket party pricing. It's not a strong enough reason to switch resort tiers on its own (a Value-to-Deluxe jump is a real money decision, and we've broken down that math in our resort tier guides), but if you're already staying Deluxe or DVC, this is one of the better reasons that room rate buys what it does.

How to use it without wasting it

Bring your MagicBand, MagicMobile pass, or Key to the World card, since that's what gets scanned at the rope. If the Extended Evening Hours park isn't the one you started in, you'll need a Park Hopper to get in. Skip dinner plans that run past 8:30 on an Extended Evening Hours night. You want to be walking toward that rope as the regular daytime crowd heads for the exits, not finishing dessert.

Check the Park Hours calendar before you book your room, not after. Which park gets the extra hours changes with the season, so the night you remember from a past trip may not be the night it runs on yours.
