Disney Deluxe Resorts Ranked 2026: Luxury, Value & Perfect Matches
A ranking of all Walt Disney World deluxe resorts in 2026, comparing amenities, theming, dining, transportation, and value. Find the perfect luxury resort for your family vacation.
Disney World Deluxe Resorts, Ranked
Deluxe resorts are where location, theming, and dining all step up. They're also where the price jumps, so picking the right one matters. I'm a DVC owner with Grand Floridian as my home resort, and I've stayed at or toured every one of these. Here's my ranking for 2026, plus who each one fits best.
What Deluxe Gets You
Every Disney hotel guest (value, moderate, and deluxe) gets Early Theme Park Entry: 30 minutes before official opening, at every park, every day. Deluxe and DVC guests also get Extended Evening Hours, extra time after closing at a select park on select nights. Deluxe resorts also have the best transportation (monorail, boats, or walking paths), better pools, and signature restaurants on site.
Rates vary a lot by season and room type. As a rough range, deluxe rooms often run from around $500 to well over $1,000 a night, with the monorail resorts at the top. I'll quote exact numbers for your dates.
1. Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
Victorian elegance on the Seven Seas Lagoon, with a white-and-red-roof look you'll recognize from the monorail. It's on the monorail loop to Magic Kingdom, and there's also a walking path to the park. Dining is the best of any resort: Victoria & Albert's (the top restaurant on property), Cítricos, and Narcoossee's, plus the Enchanted Rose lounge.
Heads up for this fall: Grand Floridian Cafe closed in July 2026 for a refresh and is expected back around November 2 (reservations open from that date). In the meantime, brunch has moved to Cítricos.
Best for: celebrations, Magic Kingdom-focused trips, and anyone who wants classic Disney luxury.
2. Disney's Polynesian Village Resort
South Seas theming, white-sand beaches, and the best Happily Ever After fireworks view from any hotel beach. It's on the monorail, and it's a short walk to the Transportation and Ticket Center for the EPCOT monorail. Dining includes 'Ohana, Kona Cafe, Pineapple Lanai (Dole Whip), and Trader Sam's Grog Grotto. Trader Sam's outdoor Tiki Terrace is closed through late October 2026. The Lava Pool, with its volcano slide, is a kid favorite.
Best for: families who want a relaxed, tropical vibe and quick Magic Kingdom access.
3. Disney's Beach Club and Yacht Club Resorts
These two share Stormalong Bay, a sand-bottom pool complex that's the best pool at Disney World. You can walk to EPCOT's International Gateway in a few minutes, and take a boat or walk to Hollywood Studios. The Skyliner station at the International Gateway is nearby too. Beach Club has Beaches & Cream (the Kitchen Sink sundae) and Cape May Cafe; Yacht Club has Ale & Compass and Yachtsman Steakhouse.
Best for: EPCOT and Hollywood Studios fans, festival trips, and pool people.
4. Disney's Boardwalk Inn
A 1920s Atlantic seaside theme right on the BoardWalk, with the same walk-to-EPCOT and boat-or-walk-to-Hollywood-Studios location as Beach Club. New this month: Hurly-Burly opened October 1, 2026 in the old Jellyrolls space (family trivia from 4 to 9 PM, 21+ live music after 9). Atlantic Dance Hall is now private events only. Flying Fish and Trattoria al Forno are the table-service options.
Best for: couples and anyone who wants evening strolls and restaurants right outside the lobby.
5. Disney's Contemporary Resort
The A-frame tower the monorail runs straight through. It's a 10-minute walk to Magic Kingdom, and it's on the monorail loop. California Grill on the top floor has the best fireworks-view dinner on property, Chef Mickey's is the classic character breakfast, and Steakhouse 71 is a solid all-day option. The rooms are modern and clean, the theming is light.
Best for: Magic Kingdom commandos and people who prefer modern over themed.
6. Disney's Wilderness Lodge
A Pacific Northwest national-park lodge with a huge timber lobby and a geyser out back. The boat goes to Magic Kingdom only; everything else is by bus. Dining includes Whispering Canyon Cafe (loud and fun), Geyser Point (great outdoor bar), and Story Book Dining at Artist Point with Snow White.
Best for: cozy-lodge fans and value-minded deluxe guests who want Magic Kingdom access.
7. Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge
The savanna views are the whole point: giraffes and zebras right outside many rooms. It's the farthest deluxe from the parks and uses buses only (no walking to any park). Food is excellent: Jiko and Boma at Jambo House, and Sanaa at Kidani Village. Kidani Village's lobby is under refurbishment from August 17 to early November 2026.
Best for: animal lovers and anyone who wants a resort that feels like its own destination.
8. Disney's Riviera Resort
A European Riviera-themed DVC resort on the Skyliner, with gondolas to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios. Topolino's Terrace on the top floor does a character breakfast and a great dinner with fireworks views.
Best for: EPCOT and Hollywood Studios trips, and DVC members.
What About Swan and Dolphin?
The Walt Disney World Swan, Dolphin, and Swan Reserve sit next to the BoardWalk area but are run by Marriott, not Disney, so they aren't Disney deluxe resorts. Guests do get some perks like Early Theme Park Entry. Shula's and Todd English's bluezoo are at the Dolphin.
Coming in 2027
Disney's Lakeshore Lodge, a new Disney Vacation Club resort, opens July 1, 2027.
