Beach Club Resort Deep-Dive 2026: A DVC Owner's Take on the Best Pool at Disney World

Beach Club has the best pool at Walt Disney World and the shortest walk into EPCOT of any resort on property. Those two facts do most of the work. The rest of the resort ranges from good to fine, but if your trip leans EPCOT and Hollywood Studios and your kids would spend three hours a day in the water if you let them, nothing else on property makes more sense.

My home resort is Grand Floridian, and I just finished a May split-stay: six nights at GF, then three at Beach Club. This is the next stop in the resort deep-dive series after Grand Floridian, Polynesian, the Contemporary, and Fort Wilderness, and it is the first one where the headline amenity outranks the rooms, the lobby, and the restaurants combined.

Where It Sits and Why That Matters

Beach Club sits on Crescent Lake in the EPCOT resort area, next door to its sister resort Yacht Club and across the water from the BoardWalk. The thing that matters is the International Gateway, EPCOT's back entrance beside the France pavilion. From the Beach Club lobby you are inside EPCOT in about five minutes on foot. Not five minutes to a bus stop. Five minutes to the turnstiles.

That changes how you tour. During Food and Wine or Flower and Garden, World Showcase becomes your food court. We walked in around 7 pm for dinner twice during our stay and were back at the resort by 9. Midday breaks actually happen here, because the round trip costs you twenty minutes instead of ninety.

Hollywood Studios is a Friendship boat ride or a 20 to 25 minute walk along the BoardWalk path. The Skyliner station at International Gateway connects you to Riviera, Caribbean Beach, Pop Century, and Art of Animation. The trade-off is the other half of the property: Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom are bus-only, and the MK bus runs 20 minutes or more on a normal day. I covered the monorail resorts earlier in this series, and Beach Club is their mirror image. Great at EPCOT and DHS, mediocre at MK.

Stormalong Bay Is the Whole Argument

Stormalong Bay is a three acre pool complex shared with Yacht Club, and this is not close: it is the best resort pool at Walt Disney World. Sand bottom in the shallow sections, the only one on property. A lazy river. A slide that drops about 230 feet off a replica shipwreck beached between the pool and the lake. A separate kid zone with a shallow sand area for toddlers. Multiple hot tubs.

My kids are 12, 9, and 4, and Stormalong Bay held all three of them for an entire afternoon, which no other Disney pool has managed. The 4 year old camped in the sand shallows. The older two ran lazy river loops and the shipwreck slide until we pulled them out for dinner.

Two practical notes. Entry is gated and wristbanded, Yacht Club and Beach Club guests only, and they do check. And on a summer pool day you want chairs claimed by 10:30 am, because the shade is gone by noon. Beach Club Villas guests also get Dunes Cove, a quiet pool that is usually half empty and exactly what you want with a napping toddler.

Cash Rates Vs. Dvc Points

Standard view rooms at Beach Club generally run $600 to $1,000 a night depending on season, with water view and club level climbing from there (verify current pricing). That is monorail-resort money for a resort with no monorail. What you are paying for is the pool and the EPCOT walk, and after three nights I think the price holds up better here than it does at half the Deluxe tier.

On the DVC side, Beach Club Villas studios run roughly 15 to 22 points a night depending on season and day of week (verify current point chart). Here is the part every renter and would-be buyer needs to know: BCV is one of the hardest resorts on the list to book at the 7 month mark, especially September through early December, when Food and Wine pulls owners from across the system toward Crescent Lake. If you do not own there, be online the morning your 7 month window opens and have a backup resort picked. Renting for a fall BCV stay usually means finding an owner who already holds a confirmed booking rather than an owner with loose points.

The 2042 Problem

Beach Club Villas expires on January 31, 2042. If you are considering a BCV resale contract because you fell for Stormalong Bay (a common origin story), understand that you are buying 16 years of use, not 40. The short runway keeps resale prices lower per point than the resorts that run into the 2050s and 2060s, but your per-trip math has to bake that in. The short version of the math: 2042 resorts only pencil if the discount is steep and you will genuinely use the points every year. Rooms: Beach Club Vs. Beach Club Villas

The main building rooms run pale blue and white, New England beach cottage by way of Robert A.M. Stern, who designed both Beach Club and Yacht Club for their 1990 opening. Most rooms have two queens and many add a daybed. The catch nobody tells you about: full balconies are not guaranteed at Beach Club. Some standard rooms get a small standing balcony or a railing instead, so if sitting outside with coffee matters to you, ask at booking.

The Villas are a separate wing on the EPCOT side of the resort, opened in 2002, with studios through two bedrooms. Studios sleep four plus a child under three. The one bedrooms add a full kitchen and a washer and dryer, which on a week-long trip with three kids is worth more than any theming decision Disney has ever made.

Where to Eat

Cape May Cafe handles both of the resort's marquee meals. Morning is Minnie's Beach Bash character breakfast, with Minnie, Donald, Daisy, and Goofy working the room in beach gear; it is one of the easier character meals on property to book. Night is a seafood buffet with snow crab legs doing the heavy lifting (verify current dinner format and pricing).

Beaches and Cream Soda Shop is the famous one: a tiny 1950s soda fountain between the pool and the lake, home of the Kitchen Sink, the eight scoop sundae that arrives with an entire can of whipped cream upended on top (about $40, verify current pricing). The dining room seats around 50 people, so reservations disappear fast. The walk-up window outside covers cones and shakes with no reservation at all.

Beach Club Marketplace is the quick service: flatbreads, salads, breakfast sandwiches, and a grocery case that makes in-room toddler breakfasts possible. Hurricane Hanna's grills burgers and pours drinks at the pool. Martha's Vineyard is the lobby-adjacent lounge nobody remembers exists, which is exactly why you can always get a seat there at 9 pm.

And the cheat code: Yacht Club is a two minute indoor walk. Ale and Compass for breakfast, Crew's Cup Lounge for a burger and a beer, and Yachtsman Steakhouse when you want a proper steak dinner without leaving Crescent Lake. Add the BoardWalk across the lake and World Showcase through the International Gateway, and no resort at Disney World puts more restaurants within a ten minute walk.

Beach Club or Yacht Club

Same pool, same location, nearly the same price. Beach Club is brighter, busier, and more kid-forward. Yacht Club runs darker and quieter, with wood paneling and a lobby bar that skews adult. One concrete difference: every Yacht Club room has a full balcony, while Beach Club's are hit and miss. Families default to Beach Club for the energy and Cape May. Couples and convention travelers default to Yacht Club. You cannot really get this wrong, but if the balcony matters, Yacht Club is the safer book.

Who Should Stay Here

EPCOT-first families and festival regulars, plus any family whose kids would rank the pool ahead of half the rides. It is also the best second half of a split-stay on property: pair a monorail resort for Magic Kingdom days with Beach Club for EPCOT and Hollywood Studios days. That is exactly how we ran May, Grand Floridian into Beach Club, and I would plan a long trip that way again without thinking twice.

Who Should Skip It

If the trip is Magic Kingdom heavy, the bus commute will wear on you by day three; stay on the monorail loop or at Wilderness Lodge instead. If your family will not use the pool, you are paying a premium for hardware you will never touch, and a Skyliner Moderate like Caribbean Beach covers the EPCOT access for half the price. And if you need a DVC studio at BCV in October without owning there, plan on disappointment.

The move: book Beach Club for an EPCOT festival trip and build your afternoons around Stormalong Bay. The walk to World Showcase covers dinner. The pool covers everything else.
