EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays 2026: Candlelight Processional, Holiday Kitchens, and What's Worth Your Time
The EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays runs November 27 through December 30, 2026, no separate ticket needed. Here's how the Candlelight Processional, Holiday Kitchens, and Cookie Stroll actually work.
The EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays runs November 27 through December 30, 2026, and it's the one big Disney World holiday event that doesn't need a separate ticket. Regular EPCOT admission gets you the decorations, the Holiday Kitchens, the Candlelight Processional (if you plan around it), and the Cookie Stroll. That's the biggest difference between this and Jollywood Nights or Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party: you're not buying a hard-ticket night, you're just picking the right day to be in the park. Last updated October 2026.
The Candlelight Processional Is the Main Event
The Candlelight Processional runs November 27 through December 30, three times a night at America Gardens Theater in World Showcase: 4:45, 6:30, and 8:00 PM. It's a mass choir and orchestra telling the Christmas story, with a rotating lineup of celebrity narrators. Disney announces narrators in waves and sometimes changes them, so check Disney's event page or the My Disney Experience app before you lock in a day around a specific name.
Here's what trips people up: it's included with admission, but the theater fills up fast, especially for a popular narrator. Your two options are lining up well before showtime and hoping for a seat in the standby line, or booking a Candlelight dining package, which pairs a meal at a participating EPCOT restaurant with reserved seating for one showing that day. The 2026 dining packages open for booking October 14. If a specific narrator or a specific night matters to your trip, book the package that morning. If you're flexible, skip it and get to the theater early.
Holiday Kitchens and the Cookie Stroll
Disney sets up Holiday Kitchens around World Showcase, each one built around a different country or tradition rather than one generic "Christmas" theme. Past years have included kitchens like Mele Kalikimaka (Hawaiian), L'Chaim! (Hanukkah), Nochebuena Cocina, and Chestnuts and Good Cheer, along with spots celebrating Kwanzaa and other traditions. Disney publishes the full menus closer to opening day, and booths and dishes shift every year.
The Holiday Cookie Stroll is the one interactive piece worth doing even if you're not big on the snack-booth format. You pick up a Festival Passport, collect stamps for qualifying cookies at different booths, and turn in a completed passport for a bonus treat. It's a built-in reason to walk the whole promenade instead of parking at one booth.
What Else Is Different in the Park
Every World Showcase pavilion gets its own holiday decor styled to that country's traditions, and the pavilions bring in holiday storytellers. JOYFUL! A Celebration of the Season, a gospel-and-R&B holiday concert, is another favorite. Showtimes post in the My Disney Experience app closer to the date.
The food and the Candlelight Processional do the real work here. The decor is a nice backdrop for photos, but it's not the reason to fly in during this window.
Who Should Build a Trip Around This
If your family already leans toward food-forward days at EPCOT, this festival is close to a must. The Holiday Kitchens turn a normal World Showcase walk into an eating itinerary, and the Candlelight Processional gives you a reason to be at America Gardens Theater at a specific time. Anyone chasing a specific narrator should book a dining package the moment the October 14 window opens, since good tables for the popular nights go fast.
Skip the planning stress if you're visiting EPCOT for rides rather than food, or if your trip doesn't overlap November 27 through December 30 at all.
One planning note: the festival overlaps with the rest of the Disney World holiday season (November 13, 2026 to January 6, 2027), Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom (25 nights, November 8 to December 22), and Jollywood Nights at Hollywood Studios (15 nights, November 7 to January 5). A late-November or December trip can realistically hit the EPCOT festival plus one evening event without changing hotels. If you're mapping out which nights go where, that's the kind of trip-building I do for free through the contact form.
